Momo kiosk perched right outside Gate 2. From 2018 till my last homebound ride, those steamy bamboo baskets were my nightly ritual—and trust me, nostalgia never tasted so good. What keeps me coming back (and why you should stop by): 1. Speed that trumps fast food: The staff recognize regulars in seconds, and a plate of six arrives before your Metro card cools down. Perfect for the last-train rush. 2. Signature sizzlers on a shoestring: My go-to was the Chicken Steamed combo—₹59 back in 2018, still an easy splurge today. The red chilli-garlic dip has just enough punch to wake you up after a long study session. 3. Surprising variety for a kiosk: Schezwan pan-fried, butter masala, even their chocolate momos (don’t knock it till you try it) turn a simple stall into a mini momo laboratory. 4. Consistent hygiene: Gloves on, counters wiped, steamer lids clamped tight—rare for a streetside spot opposite one of Kolkata’s busiest junctions. 5. Bonus people-watching: Grab a seat on the low wall and watch auto-rickshaws jostle for space while the Uttam Kumar statue glows under the station lights—a perfect slice of South Kolkata life.
